The menu is one of the first things people see when they sit down to order. Believe it or not, that menu is very important. Keeping the menu updated, adding new dishes and editing it to better describe dishes or to have a better design makes all the difference.

So it’s important that your website has a clean and easy to navigate menu that gives viewers all the options you want them to have and so they can easily find what they are looking for. And, when you add pages to your website, it’s important to add those new pages in their right place.

Here is how to update the main menu of your website:

From the admin dashboard (backend) of your WordPress website, click on “Appearance“, then click on “Menus“:

This will pull up page that allows you to edit any menu.

To begin, select the menu you want to edit. When you open this page it usually defaults to “main menu” here is where that is shown:

If you have several menus, it will give you the option to choose which menu you want to edit.

To the left of the page you will see all the pages that are currently published on your website:

To add any page to the menu, select that page and then click add to menu. You will then have the ability to drag and drop the menus items in any order you please.

You can also create drop down menus by dragging and dropping the selected page below the main menu item you want it to show under and dragging it a little to the right. Please check out this short video to see an example of how to add a page to your main menu and also how to create a dropdown page.

Once you are finished, make sure to click the “Save Menu” button in the bottom right of the page.
The changes you have made will now reflect on your live website.
